I just wish Filezilla could detect the disconnection and re-initiate the connection process so that the operation commands can be send to the server. I've tried different timeout settings in Filezilla with 5 seconds or 0 seconds to disable it, but nothing works. The client on the other end is an automated system so changing that is not. I'm just wondering if anyone had experience this. It seems like there is a client incompatibility. This makes filezilla hang there for a long time without any response(as it waits for server response, but the connection was already closed). b) Alternatively (or if the server is not under your control), configuring Rebex SFTP to behave more like FileZilla or WinSCP should work around the issue. Fill the user name assigned for you in the User box and Select Connect. Enter the server address you want to connect in the Host box and Port box with 22. Select SFTP SSH File Transfer Protocol in Protocol box. Choose New site from the box that appeared. But most of the times, filezilla defaults to just send the browser directories or other commands that I initiate WITHOUT reconnecting to server when the connection was already dead. Select the installed Filezilla from the menu bar. Here choose FTP and select Transfer Mode Active mode or Passive mode. For this we need to navigate to Edit menu: Click on Edit menu and choose Settings. Rarely, filezilla would reconnect to server and everything works well when I do some operations like browse directories. If this still does not connect properly to the FTP server, then we can try to modify the connection mode either active mode or passive mode. If you have previously connected to a site, use. And sometimes when I come back to filezilla after maybe 5 minutes, the connection to server is disconnected. End the session with File Disconnect (to keep FileZilla running), click the Disconnect icon, or File Exit. I usually leave filezilla idle for a while. I use Filezilla Client to connect to my Centos 7 servers using SFTP. I've been using FileZilla for years now, and there is this one thing that really bugs me.
